Finding the right in-home caregiver

It all begins with our detailed screening and face to face interview process. Less than 4% of all the caregivers we interview meet the high professionalism and qualification standards we set. AmeriHome healthcare registers a CNA or HHA with the highest regard for your loved one’s care needs in mind. This is the final question our interviewers always ask themselves before registering a homecare giver. “Would I feel comfortable that this person is qualified to care for my Mom or Dad?”

Once homecare givers completes the interview process, they are fingerprinted to undergo a federal criminal background check. Additionally, a Motor Vehicle driving record report is obtained as well as a Social Security verification. We also require a minimum of 2 professional references all prior to their hiring.

We then categorize each caregiver based on their years of experience and training with specific illnesses or injuries. Such as working with stroke patients, Alzheimer and Dementia patients, Hospice patients etc. We focus on their specialty and then classify them accordingly. The home caregivers on our registry carry their own liability insurance and auto insurance. Insurance coverage is an important issue to consider before you choose a homecare giver, as you do not want to be held responsible for any unforeseen circumstance.

Proper Licenses and Insurances

AmeriHome Healthcare also makes sure that all registered caregivers are certified (if they are an HHA) and/or licensed(CNA). We maintain current copies of their Certifications  and Licenses.

AmeriHome Healthcare maintains a file consisting of all accredited licensing, social security, proof of citizenship. As well as CPR, and all applicable documents including a copy of each caregivers Liability Policy. All of these documents are  available upon request.

Caregivers undergo an extensive interview process, as we do our best to match the caregiver and the patient.

AmeriHome Healthcare treats all patients like they are our family. Whether the care is for someone coming out of the hospital or whether someone just needs companionship care, we can assist you every step of the way in finding the right caregiver for your needs. Our staff is knowledgeable, friendly and trustworthy.

AmeriHome Healthcare is a Licensed Nurse Registry. In addition we have complied with rules and regulations adopted by the State of Florida. Florida Statutes , and Chapter 59A-18 of the Florida Administrative Code. This accreditation is proof of the high quality standards that our company establishes. AmeriHome Health Care provides references upon request.

10 Reasons Why Home Care is Better

Many people prefer home care before any other option, and for good reason. Who wouldn’t want to stay home if they could? Home is a place of emotional and physical associations, memories and comfort. Although many people can be happy in assisted living facilities, such as  retirement communities or nursing homes. For many people these are better options. Some people leaving their home find it can be disruptive and depressing.

Home care is one of the fastest growing segments of the elder care market. There are also a variety of different home care options to choose from. Offering everything from light housekeeping to skilled nursing. Because of the options in home care available, people in all situations can now make it their first choice. Here are ten reasons why home care is a popular choice:

FASTER RELEASE FROM THE HOSPITAL

With home care, patients can come home sooner from the hospital. Since the services of nurses, doctors, therapists and social workers can follow patients home, hospital stays can be shorter.

SUBSTITUTE FOR HOSPITAL OR NURSING HOME

In some cases, depending on the severity of an illness or disability,  home care is the answer. It can substitute for other forms of institutionalized care, including hospitals and nursing homes.

INVOLVEMENT WITH TREATMENT

Both the patient and family members can also be more intimately involved with the patient’s treatment at home. In addition to helping administer medications, and working with the patient on physical therapy.  They can help by coaching them on their recovery.

INDEPENDENCE

We all want and need to preserve our independence. This is, perhaps, the greatest plus for receiving care in one’s own home.

COMFORT

Being at home is more comfortable for people than being in an unfamiliar place. They have their photographs, books, bed, bath, kitchen, telephone, television; everything is in its place, which in studies has proven to be an effective emotional healer.

FAMILY AND FRIENDS

Unlike the restricted visiting hours at hospitals and nursing homes, home provides a place where family and friends can be close to the person at all hours, whenever needed.

MORALE

Patients also tend to have a greater sense of well-being and overall morale when they are in the comfortable surroundings of their own home.

FASTER RECOVERY

In addition research has shown that recovery can be faster at home than in the hospital. Particularly if there is good quality, skilled home health care available to the patient.

COST

Depending on the hours needed, home care can be much more affordable than nursing homes or other institutions.

Certified CNA or HHA have formal and  practical training in personal care services for seniors. Hands-on personal care services for Activities of Daily Living (ADLs) can be provided by a CNA and HHA.
